If you own a blog, website or e-commerce site, you are most likely using the WordPress platform. With its many themes and intuitive installation and design, WordPress has set many users up for online success.
Whether you are a developer, designer, or content manager within WordPress, you need to always be aware of the newest WordPress tools, updates, and techniques. Designers, developers, and basic users can all find ways to learn and follow WordPress news.
Developers, bloggers, and business owners seldom get enough time in the day to actually search for and read about the latest WordPress updates. Therefore, one quick way to do so is by listening to podcasts hosted by people in the WordPress community.
In the last year and a half, the podcast landscape has changed drastically. It seems as if nearly everyone has a podcast these days. Heck, we’re even about to start a podcast over here at TechFunnel (Stay Tuned). But, with so many new podcasts being added on a daily basis, it sometimes becomes difficult to find the right ones.
Well, we’ve got you covered.

In that regard, WordPress Plugins A to Z is the best place to visit.
John told TechFunnel exclusively:
“It is wonderful to be featured as one of your top 20 podcasts to listen to. I originally started the podcast in 2011 to help grow my business and to showcase my knowledge of the WordPress plugins that were available for people to use on their websites. It was also show the listeners out there that they could do a lot of this on their own without hiring a developer or to only hire one for special needs or doing premium projects.”
“The podcast has grown over time and has changed in its format over time. Originally the format was to review WordPress plugins from A to Z. Reviewing plugins starting with the letter A and going to the letter Z. About the time I got to the letter H, I realized it was not going to work simply due to the fact that the plugins were growing too fast. When I started the show there were about 9000 Plugins and by the first year there were about 15, 000 in the repository and it was growing at a rapid pace. Currently there are over 54, 000 plugins in the WordPress repository and there are even more in the third party market. Code Cannon has 10’s of thousands of premium plugins that aren’t listed at WordPress along with several other repositories and independent developers that only list their plugins on their websites. This is why I started the show to showcase all this information. As time has moved along I have also been privy to watching how WordPress has evolved. The listenership has grown I have a pretty steady loyal listenership along with several people who pop in and out.”
“Listeners should tune in because I look for ways to solve unique and unusual problems and needs. I bring three plugins to the show every week, often unique plugins or strange and unusual plugins to solve very specific needs for people. I also review a lot of standard plugins to see which ones will be best. Sometimes you need a plugin for a job and there might be 3, 5, 10 different plugins available for a job so which one are you going to use? So when I do a job, I go through some of those plugins and put them into a review list. Some plugins might not be worth putting into your website because they cause problems and others might be like gold. That’s why they should tune in so they can hear this unique information week after week.”
